barryny I think you all are onto something lol, no really. I want to thank you for the ttf info.

I went to one of the old homes close by, I have some other post were I pulled some silver out of it with other coins. Shot a vid but still working on getting it up. 1st coin was a 40 wheaty. Hunted all evening and in a spot that I new I had pulled in everything I could...this was still left.

Alot of trash came up as well..ie can slaw. Also pulled in this tag that said" MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN".

Thanks for lookin and HH

Just goes to show - there's always more to be found...
Everyone using TTF should thank our friend Gaz, from over the pond, for being stubborn and pushing us to try the TTF set-up in the first place.
It has changed the way I hunt plowed fields and opened up a lot of old pounded sites, again, for many of us here.

Thanks Barry....that's very humbling!!

I did keep on a bit when these settings proved themselves very powerful.

I just wanted everyone to try them and hopefully find loads!!!

I always use my tweaked version which is DEEP OFF, FAST ON and Volume Gain 30.

This turns off loads of unwanted filtering speeding things up incredibly. Go by the audio....it's quicker than the TID.

Turning the additional filtering off will make the TID number a little more erratic but speed up the audio reaction enabling the really iron hidden good targets to sneak through.

Good luck guys!!

Gaz.

Gaz, I found alot of trash (iron) in with it and that's what really sold me. I did pull out alot of canslaw and other unwanted that sounded good at first but started to notice the tone was diff. on that stuff ....a little bit of a warble to the tone at the start or finish. Was you seeing the same?
Thanks again

Hi 3Ring.....

Nah mate....I can't remember the last time I dug any iron with 2 tone ferrous. All iron will give a low tone. Anything non-ferrous will give a high tone.
This will include can slaw and ringpulls etc but these items unfortunately share the same signature as good keepers!!

I have dug many many one way high tone signals with a low tone at 90 degrees and it's always been iron. It's the way it interrupts the field.
You will get caught out by ring shaped iron or square shaped iron but all detectors get caught out with this.

Good two way signals are the way to go. Even if you get a 'warbly' high AND low tone at two 90 degree angles....dig it.

In my experience it's a good target right next to something ferrous. The Etrac is just telling you that both targets are under the coil and give you both tones because it's reacting so quickly.

Good hunting,

Gaz.

Thanks. Can't wait for the weekend.
