TTF on Trash but Conductive on coins???

grumpy

New member
Had a question come to mind reading the great article about hunting TTF for really old trash sites for coins maske by iron.
If you are hunting a park or yard that only has alum. shards, pull tabs and such looking for coins and if the place is only mildly trashy, What is the most common choice on the Ferious or Conductive setting and sounds???
I use a coin and ring pattern that i made specific for all us coins and mens and womens rings i could find and the sound system is still a little beyond me on that .
Thanks for any info or suggestions

I would hunt conductive in an area with a lot of conductive tones and not much iron. Andy taught me that the tones in conductive are much more accurate than the screen ID.

Plus, hunting on conductive lets your ears do the discriminating and is less demanding on the hunter.

I love TTF in iron infested sites, but prefer conductive when I can hunt with it.

my rule I go by is simple.....if there is more iron than conductive targets use TTF

if there is more conductive targets than iron then use conductive tones, simple!

thanks much for the replys ; I have been tied up with an old site lately and just now got back to read the forum. I will try the con. since the site is not infested with iron, mostly not much iron just trash , pull tabs and screw caps. I do find a fair amount of lead pipe pieces but there big and easy to tell when you get one.
Thanks again we appreciate the info.
