TTF brings me a first

Five summers ago I found my fist LC (1817) in a local park riddled with large oaks. Offencive linemen could hide behind these majestic trees. The next day I found my second LC (1819) and I thought to myself why haven't these coins been found before. I pulled out a few more coins much younger than the two aforementioned but good coins ( my second barber quarter). Seasons past and nothing else was found and my detecting buddy said " John, I don't think anything else is here so lets move on. I being stubborn not as much as my wife claims, I see it as persistence. My memory tells me that perhaps a year after finding the LC's, I spoke with a gentleman whilst detecting that he had found a seated half dime in the same area that I had found my first two LCs. This has haunted me...many times had I gone back to this area after finding the LCs and found nothing but rusty nails and junk. Fast forward, after reading plenty about TTF, today I decided that I would hit the same area with no holds bard ( if that is the correct phrase) and open the E-Trac with no discrimination on TTF to see what brother luck could bring me. My second hole 6" inches down...1837...a half dime! A beautiful half dime! I went slow, very slow with manual sen at 28, no fast, no deep, high trash and ground difficult. I was there for 3 hours and found the half dime, two wheaties, a merc, an infantry button and a copper ring. I and a hundred other detectorists have been there through out the years, so as said many times and many ways, "there are no hunted out sites" especially with an E-Trac. I will post the finds tomorrow.

Congratulations on your Etrac finds! Looking forward to seeing the picks!

The half dime give me a clear and solid signal in one direction but the numbers were jumping from 1-39, 1-37 and 12-39. In the other direction an iron grunt. I walked away about 3 feet, stopped and said to myself that just sounds too good in that one direction. I dug and there it was my first half dime and not a bad date to boot. I am sold on TTF.

Way to go! If your wating for two way signals you'll miss some good stuff as you've found out. Even the 1/4 way signals will be dug if there is even a decent number flash. Great job!

Very nice. It is amazing what TTF can pull out of the iron. The great thing in my area is I have not seen another minelab. A couple Whites and Garrett's. Don't get me wrong. They are all great machines, but I think Minelab has the edge in hunted out parks with the TTF.

Yes, 2TF is killer in iron - congrats on the great looking Half Dime !

Very nice! That half dime is an awesome find. Were you using a small coil?

Actually I was using the stock coil and I hope Santa brings me a small coil so I can really clean up.
