Trying to detect gold chain bracelets

and necklaces. They're hard to detect. Anyone have any tips that helps to differentiate them from foil. Have Vaquero with 9 x 8" and 5.75 coils and Cortes with 9 x 8.

most searches by most people are done in the motion Discriminate mode and the Vaquero does adjust lower. Thus, it can more easily hit on the small gold chains.

The ONLY way you can tell the difference between any small gold chains, ear rings, pendants, tiny baby rings, etc. from small foil is to take a look at it. :)

Your EYES are the only 100% accurate Discriminator or Target ID.

Run the highest Sensitivity you can w/o chatter, use the lowest Disc. setting you can tolerate, and do not sweep too quickly. Overlay, and recover all good beeps and the good-sounding 'iffy- responses, too.

I agree, to find the small gold I have to run my Vaquero no higher than iron.

The problem with any chain is that your detector only sees one link at a time rather than the chain as a whole. One usually finds them because they have a clasp that the detector can see better.
