Trying to decide on CZ3d or Edge (Need Opinions)

Prospector

New member
I haven't owned a fisher in a while, but am interested in trying one again. I am looking for a unit that has good depth for old coins and some relic hunting. I would like a detector that is well built and easy to use. Any users or opinions of the two models both pros and cons would be appreciated.

Hi Prospector,

Yes, the CZ-3D is an excellent detector for older coins, better than the Edge and CZ has enhanced mode designed specifically for the older coins. Now for the Edge it has the digital target ID, but no adjustable ground balance for mineralized soils. Hope that helps. Keep us posted on your decision.

Thanks,

The CZ 3d, CZ 5, and the CZ 70.....
I liked the Edge, used it with the 6" coil, but the places that I hunted, I had trouble ground balancing, some times I had to move to several places to GB.
The Edge is a single freq.6.25 and the 3d is duel freq. 5 & 15.
The Edge maybe a little lighter.
I have read posts where the 3d was better on salt beaches.
The places that I hunt are old lots that have been bladed, the gb is some where from 4.5 to 5.5, so If I can not find a clean spot to GB, I just put it on 5 and hunt, no problems.
I use the 3d and 5" coil most of the time, and the 5" coil is deep, 8" silver dimes and 9" clad half with good ID, in our soil.
The Edge and a CZ will hunt side by side, but you can not do that with 2 CZ's...

Here is a picture of a friend hunting with his CZ 3d and 5" coil, check out his digger,lol..
