Trying out camera

try having a background that is more in contrast so the item is more easily seen. also check your camera for a macro setting it will help focus on the small stuff.

this is constructive criticism, i'm glad you can now post and am looking forward to seeing your finds.

steve :)

Macro mode and a solid background are key. My cheap camera won't do a good macro shot, even in the mode.
Use fill lighting when needed.

Yes...a black or darker backround will make those finds stand out...especially gold !

Thanks. This is a toy digital camera that my wife got to play around with a few years ago and I found it in her dresser not being used. Will have to work with the dark background and light ideas. Too bad my hewlett-packard that I won won't work on Windows Vista. Just got tired of sounding like a know-it-all and not even having proof of finding anything. Posting pics is much more enjoyable than trying to convince others the Ace isn't that bad of a detector.
