There was a gang related shooting this year and it lead to an island wide manhunt, it was a really big deal here. Most murders here, and they are very few, are stabbings which tends to deter most folks. It takes a lot of energy and guts to get up close and personal enough to stab somebody to death. With a gun it's a case of pull the trigger and it's all over, nothing personal about it. As Bruce Lee said " Any fool can pull a trigger".
Unfortunately for the US of A there are too many fools running around with guns so I can't fault the good and law abiding citizens for taking up arms to protect themselves. It's just a shame that an honest working Joe can't 'Leave Home Without It' because some crook with a gun is going to threaten his life or the lives of his loved ones.
I guess that's just life in the big city.
