I gave one away only a few years back. Still working well. I think KellyCo say on their site that it came out in 1981. Mine was second hand in 1980 and I think they hit the U.S. market in 79.
Had some upgrades in 84 or 85 which improved depth and sensitivity to cupro nickel coinage.

Sold in the U.K. as the Treasuremaster TM 1000. 11" widescan coil, automatic tuning, L.E.D. battery check, rated to 200 feet and used a vibrator pad instead of headphones.
Soon followed by the 2000 model but I can't remember what the improvements were supposed to be for that one.
 
had it upgraded a few years after I bought it second hand,to a 3000 case,phones,and weighted coil.
Still take it out now and again.Has good depth and sensitivity.Good old machine.HH Joe
