Hello all,
I am new to the scene and still looking to purchase my first detector. My question is how do I find out if the person posting their classifieds here are honest people. I have posted questions on here already and everyone seems very curtious and helpful but you just cant be too careful when it comes to $$$. So is there a way to be safe?
Thanks

Do a search on the Feedback forum for the person you are thinking of doing business with is one way. No one would be offended if you asked for references either once you found a deal. If all else fails just post on the Feedback forum...........Has anyone done business with ..............??

You can also look up prior posts from that person. If they are a very active member they are probably trustworthy, and you can see if they have posted anything in the classifieds before. You can also see if they had prior com plants or problems with their detector if they posted it.

Read feedback.Ask for references.........any honest, and there are many, many here..will not object. It's best dealing with long term members who people have dealt with..Not because some Newbies are bad...just because you have a better feel for the longer term members..Be very aware there are people here that will scam you in a heartbeat..Always lurking...always sending Pm's with bogus offers....Get a name, a phone number, an address, and make contact before you send money, or detector..Understand the deal your making..Some things are up for interpretation..What looks very good to some, may not look the same to you.. If it feels bad..it most likely is........don't do it..Now the next thing you should consider is dealing with one of our sponsor dealers..till you feel you can make a purchase safely after being here and kinda picking up the vibes from people...........a dealer is a better, safer avenue. A Dealer is going to follow exactly what he says he will do..no worry for you. That being said...most people on here are genuine trustworthy people who will bend over backwards to give you a good deal. There pretty darn good members.
