is the excal 800 or 1000 the same electronics as the sov-gt ? i was told that all the excal is a sovoriegn gt . is this true ?

It is not a SOV GT, but about the same features as an one of the older Sov models, not sure which one? It would be cool, if the Excal had all the features of the GT and was still submersible!

It is my understanding that the Excalibur and Excalibur II are basically the Sovereign circuits repackaged to fit in a tube.
Not identical but functionally the same.
If you like the way a Sovereign works around salt water you will like the Excalibur because with your eyes closed they both sound and react the same.

IMHO ... The Excalibur is the best salt water beach detector ever made for finding lost coins and jewelery.

yeah ,,your right gulf man,,,the board is the same but some of the fascilities are not,,i think it is one of the earlier machine tronics also,,it would be better if it was a G.T. in frogs clothing,,:ukflag:,peace brother,,,,comcat:ukflag:
