troy x2

I know this detector was made by Tesoro but what Tesoro base unit was it made? Has anyone ever used one or the Tesoro equivalent?

Thanks,
Bill

Not familiar with this detector so a question:
Does the switch / resistor do a second fixed discriminator setting so you see penny / dime / quarter and discriminate out below those?

You may be right, but I and a few others who posted on Carl's forum called Tesoro about the X2 when it was being discussed regularly on there and was told by James Gifford that other than the resistor that was added for the coin check feature the electronic components were identical to the Silver Sabre

I believe Fisher made the Shadow X3 and X5.

That's correct the X3 and X5 was manufactured for Troy by Fisher.I had a couple of X2s and they performed very well great depth a little more sensitivity than the Silver Umax, which is a great detector. The X2s were sold on Ebay to some guy in the UK for a premium price. Also sold the silver.Even though both of these units are great detectors,in this category the Fisher 1236X worked better for me with my hunting style and environment.
