Troy Shadow series

Just a quick question to satisfy my curiosity. I noticed that Tesoro will repair the shadow series of detectors. Were they made by Tesoro? The reason I asked is that I was about to purchase a used x5 for a $650.00 and thought that if Tesoro made this there must be an equal in there current line up. What I am looking for is a replacement for my Fisher coinstrike. The C$ is a fine detector but with the tendinitis in my elbow a much lighter detector is needed and Tesoro certainly fits the bill. I mainly search for coins in light to moderate soil conditions in Alabama.

[size=large]... They will only repair the first Troy Custom model, the Shadow X2. This model was made by Tesoro for him, and is a just slightly modified Silver Sabre

Just my experience for what it's worth:

I used a DFX for a couple years and then got interested in Tesoro. Bought a Vaquero and then also a Tejon. Liked the Vaquero so well I haven't used the Tejon that much. After much experience with the TID DFX I can tell you that you will find more because you will dig more without the ID mis-informing you. That does not mean that the Tesoro discrimination doesn't work - it does - but you will probably dig more iffy targets and often be surprised to find that they are good stuff.

I still have the DFX, and a Minelab SE, and the two Tesoros, but my goto detector is the Vaquero every time except in very trashy spots.

I love my vaq but if I do a nice yard I use my xlt mainly to tell me how deep to dig, so I don't dig any bigger hole than needed.
:pulltab:

tesoro produced the x-2!..only!..the x-3 and x-5 were produced by fisher!

(h.h!)
