Troy Shadow Question

How would I tell the difference from a Troy Shadow 2 coil from other Troys if there are no markings to state other wise.

I always go by the rule of: If its a technical issue or technical question with a metal detector I like to contact the maker, becuase you can get 400 different answers in a forum from 4 different people, so I would rather hear it from the horses mouth, and in your case Troy.

He is a super nice guy and has helped answer NUMEROUS questions I have called to ask him, here is his support line: 1-972-690-5703 or you can go to Troy Forums and ask the same question and he usually answers it, but I would call if it was me.

I might add Shadow 2 is a Gem of a detector, own 1 myself.

I can tell you it'll take the 5 pin

We made the X2. Fisher made the others. So the X2 uses our 5 pin connectors!

Plus the Troy X2 takes only the solid black concentric 7" inch Troy coil Will not take the X3 and X5 coils. The X3 And 5 concentic black coil with the D shaped hole made by Troy will not work on X2 neither will the spyder 9 " troy coil work on it..Only the 7" solid blk Troy coil.. then again you can use other Tesroo umax coils on on it as long as its pin compatible.

Hi Woodchuck, I may have misunderstood your reply on the Troy X2 coils so I just checked to refresh my memory, since I haven't fired up my X2 in awhile. Seems I remember when buying my Troy X2 (new), the Super 9" Spider coil came on it from the factory, and I bought the Super 7" later. I may have that backwards but don't think so. Both coils are 5 pin. So the X2 will take a heap of coils when you count all the compatable UMax, and even older (non UMax) Tesoro coils. HH, Charlie

That's why they are such a good detector :tesoro::thumbup:.

Yes it can take other Umax coils as I mentioned, and yes my mistake the 9 " spyder coil also. Troy X2 coils are 9 inch spyder and 7" solid concentric only.
