Hello from south Smokey Mtns, I have xt 705 gold.Newbie but can I detect gold unerwater with 6"' 18.75 DD waterproof. Anyone know what settings,.anyone done it? You guys allways come through. Awsome people on here. Thanks.Koda

I used mine a few times that way. Just use prospecting mode and dont get in too deep. Its hard to recover targets under water. If its warm enough you should have a mask so you can see what you are digging. In soft stream beds you can use a beach scoop with really small holes or plugged holes. Good luck

Detecting in fresh water is just like detecting above water, except recovering targets is far more difficult. Use whatever mode you would use above water - usually Prospect Mode when prospecting! In cold water let your coil sit in the water a couple minutes to cool down before tuning. You may find working right at the edge of the water causes false signals going in and out of water so it is best to either be in the water or out, no back and forth.
