It looks like things might not be going according to plan over at that 4 letter word hunt! Cut and paste the link. This can't be good for the hobby! :nono:

the whole deal is very controversial. Who in their right mind would knowlingly get involved in something like that. If I were a participant that had spent the $$ for travel, entrance fee and other expenses and then walked into that hornets nest I would be very pi**ed off!

What happened there and even at least years DIV caused a stink in the papers and just gives the Beauracrats more reason to tighten things down. In My Opinion All organized hunts of that scale should cease no matter what group puts it on or how "legal" it is! If I were a local area relic hunter with legitimate permission to detect private lands I would be spittin nails when that kind of s**t happens.

Is why these folks (many of the same ones that were on that Miss. bean field & found nothing) don't form a damn lynch mob to demand refunds?. These people pay over $500 ea. to sign up + expenses.....This episode just takes the cake.
You know any negative post over at the Dumpo will be instantly deleted, those who hunted for free will call it great "fellowship", & those demanding refunds will be "banned for life". :ban:
What's even more pathetic is that the same minions who just got ripped off will be signing up for the next Dumpo Dig.
The bad thing is that we have a DIV hunt this week & now all this makes them look bad, & the press will probably be there now

The really bad part about it is that if the guys/gals that do all the hard work researching old sites ,get permishion to hunt, dig the finds , put it in display cases for people to see, in the museums, county fairs ect. are labled bad when if in fact if it was'nt for them people would never know about some small areas that turned the tide in the war so all people could be free to do the things that we all take for granted god bless them all now and for ever
