Just went through this same thing last Sept. The first three weeks are the worst. Can't do anything and it makes you feel like crap. Believe me, it does get better.

I just mentioned this in another forum but will do it here also. I am SO GLAD THIS POST CAME UP. I may be facing the prospect of getting stents or bypass surgery and I've be (I'll be honest) scared about it. I've put it off for several months but now since you guys are showing me it won't be the end of my MD'ing days. Thank you to all of the gng's that put their comments on this one!

Hi mham mate i had the big 5 way a while back and was detecting right after it about 3 weeks ,the chest stichup is the painful bit and remember DONT SNEEZE its a killer its like swallowing a grenade .terry i am feeling so good now it frightens me

I got 2 stents put in in january 4th, was home 9th and detecting just over a week later(waited that long just to be sure), the only thing to show for it was a small punture hole in my right wrist(now unnoticable) and i can probably be detected
To be honest, far better than being gutted like a fish, much faster recuperation and i feel great. I just came home today after 2 days of tests, managed a 97.9% on the stress test(they said it was enough, before me) i put it down to soft sand detecting, sure is a good a workout as any gym.
Go for it, at least you can sneeze and laugh without the pain.
Get well soon

Had 4way 11 yrs ago , Depression right after was the big thing for me, But I figured I could give up or start living. My daughter would say get busy livin o get busy dieing .I chose life and 6 mo later was dirt track racing ,rideing my mc , said this to say dont let it get you down life aint over, Its just starting

i had a pacemaker fitted just over 7 weeks ago , and i am only 44, like someone else mentioned i have found depression a problem. i have just been given the go ahead to get back detecting, but no heavy digging yet as i still have serious inflammation where the leads go into the heart, I've been told the inflammation is quite common and should go away soon. cant say the operation was pain full, but it scared me that much i was violently shaking while on the operating table. a nurse even asked if i was cold!

Yea I was 45 my cousin had 4 heart attacks by 50 last one got him , But he didnt even try to take care of himself
