Trinkets from the cornfield.

I had to go to work Sunday but I managed to swing by the cornfield where I found the KG III copper last week. I only had a couple hours and the targets were few.
I only found a few interesting targets but I had a good time anyway.
I found a buffalo nickel, a wheat, a few buttons and a musketball. No great shakes but I figured I'd post them anyway.

I've been getting used to the field hunting and as you know...some days a a few coins will pop out and some days they won't...BUT as long as we are having fun that's what counts my friend.:beers:

Besides looks as though you did find some coins and some buttons to boot.

You may already have some old maps.... if not, the best field hunting i ever done was by down loading or buying late 1800's Atlases of your county. MOST give the location of buildings on the property... be it barns, schools, or homes. They also show the road into the property which can produce. These places now in the corn field were long gone..... meaning there in no modern trash like old homes still standing. Old homes still standing many times have add ons.... that foundation dirt was spread around normally on the yard. I was amazed at what i found..... like old schools, rail road buildings, and barns in some of the fields near me. I learned to recognize the highs in the field where these building were located as well. I loved finding the old buttons, horse stuff.... and more whats-its than i can count. Good Hunting and great finds.
