TRIM POT ADJUSTMENTS SILVER SABRE PLUS ???
i was wondering if someone knows if there are any trim pot adjusters on the silver sabre plus board thanks.
ONE--i am wanting to be able to adjust the ground balance.
TWO--or maybee add a 10-turn 100k potentiometer knob.
any info as to the feasability of this would be greatly appreciated.
this would make it a much more versitile machine,ie can then be used to its full potential on highly mineralised ground.
enabling me to find relics+valuable coins ect in the gold diggings.

The silver sabre plus is set up as good as you can get it .if you turn the detector over you will see a small white plug if you remove the plug you can see a small white thing that a tiny screwdriver can fit in to , i belive that you can turn that left or right but i dont think that it is a ground ballance Ken . I once had a bandido and i had a switch so that you switch the detector from fixed ground balance to manual GB , in fixed GB it gave me the same depth as my Silver and in manual i got a little more depth but not that mutch . I also found that if you did not set the GB up correctly that you lost depth , i only ever used the detector in the fixed mode after that. I hope this helps Ken Les , Monte is the person that will probably help you the most on this subject Ken as he is the most knowlageble person that i have ever come across regarding the Tesoro metal detectors .try to direct one of your quetions to him as he is a great guy and he is verry helpfull.

THANKS LES yes i found the hole allready and have made a little mod up for it,it adjusts the threshold.i made up a littl plastic knob that fits iin snug so that you can tutn it to adjust anytime necessary. this is very handy as when in all metal you can adjust it so you can just barely hear the threshold sound, this is at its most sensitive, and will allow for the tinyest noise to be heard from deep targets. when you switch to silent discrimination you can turn ithe switch to make the threshold on full but of course it is still silent, itincreases target depth considerably,by amplifying the signals from deep targets,i would say by approx 2-3 times you would normaly hear.i believe this is referred to as super tuneing. IT DEFINITELY WORKS TRIED IT IN THE TEST BED. and now in discrim mode i can hear targets slightly deeper than all metal, what a bonus. this is because of the amplification in the sound. ONE WARNING THOUGH REMEMBER TO TURN IT DOWN BEFORE SWITCHING BACK TO ALL METAL MODE. or you will get sore ears.but the only reason i can see you would have to ,or wanto switch to all metal is for pinpointing and if you want to hunt for relics thereby needing to find all metals including iron.
ONE OTHER THING I NOTICED you loose a bit of the sense of how deep your target is,as the signal is greatly amplified. but hey who cares the extra depth more than compensates for that.

hi as les pointed you out to me, can you answer the question on trimpots ???, i have looked at the circuit board and i dont think there are any on the silver.
HOWEVER I HAVE BOUGHT A SIDEWINDER UMAX,and know they have trimpots,FOR THE THRESHOLD,AND GROUND BALANCE,from what i have read behind the face panel. so would it be feasable to pop on a
10-turn 100k potentiometer to adjust the ground balance ???. OR IS IT ABLE TO BE SUFFICIENTLY ADJUSTED BY THE EXCISTING TRIMPOT IF I PUT A LITTLE KNOB ON TO THE FACE SO THE TRIMPOT CAN BE ADJUSTED EXTERNALY ??. AND THE SAME FOR THE TRIMPOT FOR THE THRESHOLD,so as to be able to supertune. regards ken
