Trifecta at Dad's old park ++

I had about two hours to hunt Dad's park this weekend. Wound up with a dime trifecta. Outside of clad I found nine wheats including a 1917, Barber dime 1915, merc 1925D, Rosie 1946, two IH both 1902, and a tool tag (?).
I got a few funky readings, and as for now I'm only digging deepies. The ground was dry and HARD - tough digging. In one hole there was the tool tag (Rome Brass & Copper Co), a nickel and part of a silver ring. In another hole was the Barber dime and a nickel. Also in one hole were two wheats and a brass screw.
I found the two 1902 IHs about a foot apart - wonder if some kid lost them together back then.
After I've hunted there for a while longer I'll run my totals. So far 103 wheats and 28 IH. About 21% of the cents I'm finding are IHs. Of the 103 wheats, 23 are pre-1920. So, 22% of my wheats are pre-1920. Alot of the rest are in the older range (20's & 30's). At 22 silvers I'm popping 1 silver to every 6 IH/Wheat.

Great finds at Dad's old park. It's the park that keep producing and producing!! Love it.

My silver/wheat totals from a park I have detected at 4 consecutive times over the past few weeks are very similar to your totals, except that the park was established in the late '20's, so no injuns, and only 1 worn barber coin.

Keep the finds coming, Bruce! It doesn't look like that park is going to stop producing anytime soon.

Thanks for the replies. Captn_se, as far as your park, even though it was established in the late '20's - Barbers and IHs were still somewhat in circulation
well until the 40's. I can remember as a kid in the late 50's and until 1964 - pocket change was FULL of Mercs, buffalos, standing lib quarters, and walkers.
My dad used to tell me to keep all the ones that were obsolete -"they don't make these anymore" he used to tell me. My attitude was "why bother - I can find them in change every day!" Well, even so, had I taken his advice I'd have had a PILE of silver by 1964 when silver coins stopped being produced and they quickly dried up from circulation !!
Point is: look hard - there have to be some barbers and IHs hiding somewhere deep !

Enjoy as thats something that doesn't happen often...Only did it once in 20 years...Really hunted hard the last hour that day in 06 as the area was old enough to give me a 4th variation..
Anybody ever do it and what would it be called...
