tried ttf on the beach

I usually don't go to the beach. My wife and I are usually in the woods hunting, and I always use ttf because using conductive sounds are just to much info for me I guess. We decided to take a trip to the beach 2 1/2 hours away. I even bought a stavr stainless beach scoop for the trip. Anyway, I spent a few hours yesterday on the beach, and was getting no good repeatable signals. I thought this was wierd. I did find one quarter. I was running a full open screen also. Before we decided to go back to the truck, I took my silver ring and threw it in the sand to see how it picked it up. (Something I should have done in the beginning). .......nothing! Just a broken faint signal, and it was shallow.

I put it in pinpoint, and it pinpointed fine. The few hours I was out there, I would only get broken signals, and they were most 01-30 to 01-36. That was frustrating. So I'm sitting here in the room thinking I may go back out on the beach this morning, and try conductive sounds, and this time do what I should have done first yesterday and throw my ring down first, and give it a try..lol. can't believe I wasted all that time yesterday.

Never really been a beach hunter because we live to far from a nice beach. If it doesn't work out for me in conducive sounds, I think I might just trade my sand scoop for another coil for the etrac.

Lots of good beach info in this thread... http://www.findmall.com/read.php?63,2076624

I really like the settings in this mode I use (one purportedly from Des Dunne) that I posted in the thread and the new pattern suggested by Nuke em is fantastic. Give the whole thread a good looking over. I learned from it and was rewarded for my efforts.

Good Luck!
