Tried out the Pantera

The Pantera arrived safe & sound (Thanks Mike) and I got to try it out about 20 minutes before dark last night. I like the 10 turn ground balance, I could set it just where I wantd it. It seems to have pretty good depth, the high low tones was nice. Only thing I noticed is it didn't seem to hit as hard on a coin in a dug plug, I know that some detectors hit a target in the plug better than others, this goes for all brands of detectors. You can set the tone to "break" on about any where on the disc. dial. I had it to "bark" on a nickel. I need alot more time with the Pantera, they are calling for 70 degree temps. this weekend, it better change quick as it has been in the 40's tops. Can't wait to get my first piece of jewelry with the Pantera, hopefully soon or the Wife might hang me, last two targets I dug with my Tejon before selling it was a small heart necklace and a 10k gold ring, she told me she wanted to try it out before I sold it but she didn't get a chance to . Will let you know how I do with the Pantera after a good long hunt with it. Steve.

I decided to bench test the Pantera with some jewelry my Wife has collected. It would hit on the smaller gold colored stuff in all metal mode but not in disc. mode even with the disc. turned all the way ccw, it did hit on the silver colored stuff in disc. mode. My Wife isn't here at the moment to tell me what jewelry is what, I don't know junk from good.

You are toast, my firiend

Better start looking for another Tejon.

If you are using the stock white 8" or brown 8"............you will get better signal response with the 7" concentric coil. Glad you are liking that Pantera, it's a great detector.

Not quite so fast Mike, not quite so fast. Give me a couple good workouts with the Pantera first, but I will say the Tejon is a great do it all detector. The Tejon with Tesoro's ED-180 discrimination and 17kHz is a great combination. I have founds lots of jewelry with some older Tesoro models as well, so the Pantera has a chance.
