Tried out the HeadHunter Diver

Gulf Huntress

New member
Hi, just wanted to share my last few days with y'all. On Sunday afternoon, Gulf Hunter and I went out to an area that is really trashy and I used the Headhunter, thought I had it tuned just right but boy was I wrong. I found one nickel, a bottle cap and a bunch of rusty nails while in the water. I was not impressed at this point. I used the Ace 250 and found .33 on land. Gulf Hunter took it out to the same area I was hunting and found lots of clad, no trash, he set it to do the right thing.

Monday, we went to a lake and I again used the Headhunter and this time actually found some clad in the water. I took it up on land and found more clad and fishing weights, along with some shell casings and then the silver ring came. Now I am thinking that the headhunter has some potential.

And of course I always have my little yellow fella with me, and I put him to work. Found all sorts of stuff, even a 14K band, I can always rely on the Ace 250.

Huntress,

I have had my HH Diver for a year now. I do not use it in salt anymore only fresh water, I have used it on the Florida treasure coast, Virgina Beach VA, Cape Cod, MA and Hampton Beach, NH. all with the same results, it did not go as deep in the salt water conditions as it does in fresh water. I have many good finds with it in fresh water conditions and it is my unit of choice for that. I have found that you can't discriminate those large rusty nails like you show or really any trash, listening to tone quality, crispness and lenght of tone are my best driscrimination tools. I have gone as far as 5 on my discrimination and they still come in loud and clear. I typically set mine up with 0 discrimination and sensativity of 9 and dig everything.

I cant believ my eyes. I replied to this post yesterday....where did it go??? into the e-dump??
Gulfhuntress , I just wanted to wish you better luck with the Diver next time out. Not in those exact words but sometihing similar.
From your pics it appears that it is finding everything.
I will see if this reply dissapears also.

I have the HH Diver and it works pretty good for me.
Do a test with various rings to get the discrimination set right. I set mine around 2 or 3 and still get gold.

Thanks

Emmett
