Tried my Eclipse 3x6 Shooter DD Today

I got a chance to use the Eclipse 3x6 Shooter DD today and it work great for me.
I went to a park that is well hunted and full of trash and the Shooter DD got up close and personal with the trash,
metal pipes & chain link fence.
I was there about 2-1/2 hours and was able to get a lot closer to objects
and find more good targets at good depth than with the stock coil.

Nothing like a shooter style coil for getting close, depth is surprising too. Beautiful bracelet, bet that made you smile.
Good job :)

Thank you Richard for the input. I purchased it from my friend and your old hunting buddy (Snake). I will try to get down that way this spring when the weather gets warm.

Thank you Rick for the input. I have never owned one before now, but it worked wonders in the trash areas and got closer to metal objects. I will be using it a lot more now. I had been using my stock MXT coil for way over a year.

Thank you Scott for the input. I love to get out and hunt with my MXT. This new coil is great and I hope to have a ton of fun this summer with it.

Thank you Mike for the input. I really enjoy getting out and hunting with my MXT even if I don't find anything. The coil really surprised me the way it performed in the trashy areas. I was smiling from ear to ear when I found the bracelet. I bet I looked like a grinning possum in a persimmon tree. I couldn't wait to get home to show my wife. It looks to have very small diamond chips in it. I will take it and have it checked at the jewelry store.

I have one and i have to say it is superb. It goes deep enough for me in my soil - Coins come out nearly as deep as with the standard coil so it seems. I regularly find coins at 6 + inches with it no problem. It slices through trash like a razor!.

Hi:
Thank you for your input. The Sooter Coil just amazes me with it's seperation and pin-pointing in trashy areas. It really does get good depth for it's size. I also have had it to go 6 inches deep on coins. It also likes the real small objects also. I have been out with it the last 3 days and will list some finds from the last 2 days later.

Is that the dd coil from white? How does it handle hi mineral soils?
I have had my mxt since Christmas and have found change in parks and lots of clad just love it. I have a lot of iron trash and mineral so i was thinking of getting a smaller coil. Also i have a friend that had a 35mm camera case full of gold nuggets that her dog took out on the lawn and chewed up losing the nuggets, problem is That was 15 years ago. I tried to find them but with the mineral and iron trash could not find them.

Hi Bill:
The coil is a White's 3x6 Shooter DD and I just bought it last week.
The soil and iron here so far hasn't caused me any problems.
(I probably wouldn't know the difference if it did).
I am not the most knowledgeable person on coils and high iron & mineral soil.
I have only been at this for a short time.(1-1/2 years).
I use the coins & jewelry setting, (6) on gain-control and (3-1/4 pre-set) on dual-control discrimination
with a slight hum from the threshold-control and go.
I have found this works best for me here where I live without having to many problems.

Hi Joe:

There are different sizes of the Eclipse DD coil for the MXT.
They are marked on top. I am not sure what coil you may have on yours.
I have the Eclipse 3x6 Shooter DD coil.
I use the coins & jewelry setting, (6) on gain-control and (3-1/4 pre-set) on dual-control discrimination
with a slight hum from the threshold-control and go.
I have tried to run the gain higher but seems to me that it picks up a lot more junk to sort out.
So I just leave mine set on what works best for me.
