I have been wanting to get in a lake for sometime and try out the excaliber. First I went to Eloycoya(Spelling?) State Park, Winnipasauki...Can't spell that one either...:rage:....after walking in with explorer xs I turned back and put on shorts and grabbed excaliber...the water was cold and sand was soft and plentyful...TOOOOO plentyful...found a few coins and tons of trash...but other than that bleaks ville...in pain from numb feet walking back to truck...I went to Wentworth Lake in Wolfboro...another State Park...I decided to get right in water without doing the dry sand....Nice and warm...this is always a warm lake...I was very surprised how clean the lake was...Found a ring wanna be...maybe a mood ring missing the color band...a lighter few pennies and nickle and quarter...So MUCH FOR LAKE HUNTING...I went from calf deep to belly deep and nothing to speak of...I guess I should find a better spot...so out of the water and walking to truck I got a loud signal on beach...and out popped a treasure chest full of GOLD COINS!!! Now that is a sick joke!!!....But was funny........My first PIRATES TREASURE!!! The Coins Cleaned up nice :wiggle:

Treasure hunting is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna find. At least you got out and enjoyed the day.

Keep Swinging,

Mattockman, that looks like the typical lake hunt loot to me. Allot of trash to find one good piece of loot. But not many of us can say we have found a treasure chest.:clapping: They must not fish much at those lakes I see no lead weights, that is normally a given when lake hunting.HH

Dude now that's a site kicking a guy when he's down. Yeah here's some trash for all your hard work and as a parting gift here's a chest of fake gold coins, brutal. I'd definately be having my revenge on that site at some point in the future.

I've been out a couple of times over the past month, but just to destress from work. More like taking a walk in the water while carrying a detector than actually doing some looting. I'm getting the desire to hunt again though, so expect to see me posting some loot in the next week or so. This hobby is so darned addictive.:detecting:

Cheers Bud,

Actually Joe there is a lead weight in pic...its a 2ozer..but this is a state park and is always full of familys with kids swimming and no fishing is done there...but the lake is full of the biggest small mouth bass I have ever caught...this part of the lake is not good for fishing cause of the beach-park...it is flat and no cover for the fish...it is home of one of the oldest settled summer spots for gov. Wentworth back in early 1700's his summer home is on top of hill from lake which burnt down in 1820...he is known to be fleeing Idians and others and buried treasure some where from there to out of state..to escape the hanging gang...long story...look it up in history of NH.
