[attachment 224325 vaqt112322012001.JPG][attachment 224326 vaqt112322012003.JPG]hiya guys,,lost a post somewhere so here it is again,,the vaquero /trident 11 are SUPPOSED to be the same,,but unless the vaquero has been changed from the spec. shown on the tesoro site, here is the difference as i found from the NEW trident machine that i have,,,now apart from the colour change,,and the name change ,i assumed everything would be the same ,,,but,, for some unknown reason,(,that is i dont understand) WHY,, a more COURSE ground balance (a 3/4 turn) should be fitted to my machine rather than the standard or more gradual.or finer g.b.should be installed,, ( the original 3/34 turn g.b. pot ),,,you know,it used to be that in the past,,or even to current machines, a 10 turn pot was fitted giving a very fine adjustment to g.b.,,and it was not so critical when the knob was knocked,,also the parameters i would think would be 14 times as wide, when tuning in a different coil,,AND in addition adjusting the same pot for bad ground,,,it appears now that this was all unneccesary and all we need is a 3/4 turn g.b.,,,,i am not an expert and advances are made all the time ,,,however, if the vaquero pots are 3 3/4 turn it must be good enough for us also,???? in addition,on this machine, the spkr volume seems less than my old cibola, and the sensitivity can go half in the red zone without problematic ticking,,the cibola could hardly go past 10,??? it seems to be fine ,,BUT ,,let me know if the changes are stateside also,, please R.S.V.P. see attached rgds :ukflag:

I use a Vaquero, but I thought about buying the trident2 instead. What I read on reviews is the only difference, apart from cosmetic, is the fixed GB, something I wouldn't even use if I had it in my vaquero

the sensitivity seems to be the same with both machines, in some places I'm able to turn it at the end of the red line

Your other post is: cibobo or lobola
Send me your Trident stickers, and I'll send you my Cibola stickers. I think it looks better with the dark color (colour) LOL!
Can you make a video doing ground balance? I'd like to see how touchy it is to get it dead on. My 10 turn is still pretty touchy.

cool ,,will try that and post if able to do so soon,,,p.s. the other post wasnt the lobolo/chibobo,or whatever,,it was a different one,,but i still managed to lose it somehow, just careless i suppose,,,but do you have the 3/4 turn g.b. on your machine ,,appears very course to me for a g.b. ,,but it obviously works anyway,,,just seems daft not to keep it as fine as 3 3/4 turn,,,but the only change i feel is different from the cibola ,or in our case the trident 1(,unless i am imagining it ),,is the speaker volume,,,,just seems a lot quieter,,if it is ,,i wonder if there is an easy way of increasing it ,,reckon i am just going nim ?,,rgds :ukflag:

maybe,,but i did have a cibola ,,or trident 1 ,,and i gotta tell you the performance was awesome,,,dunno if this makes a difference but i fitted a 10 turn g.b. to it ,,you take out the little g.b. pot and put inplace the cables for the 10 turn pot instead,,now the g.b. will balance automatically at the position of the new pot,,,but will auto tune to the ground setting you have set,,so even with the manual g.b. the machine will constantly g.b. itself ,,only at the optimum ground reading ,,provided the ground is not constantly changing this should be better, but before i fitted the pot,, the machine was a total depth monster anyway ,,actualy it was also fitted with the 12 x 10 coil ,,and would work on salt wet with no problem,,,loved it ,,. rgds :ukflag:

I have owned & used two different Cibola's and neither of them would "tick" with sensitivity maxed out.

Who puts out the Trident ?? Have they been around for long ?

Thanks all I found out the answer to my questions

I am pretty sure that Tesoro makes them for our friends in the UK.
