Back the the 1920's beach and found a couple of silver a 1944 penny in vf-xf condition.

The mystery ring up in the left top corner has me scratching my head. No markings on the inner band. Came out of the water without the usual silver corrosion that the other pictured bank has. it could be a mix metal of some other source or it could be silver. Too old to be platinum. Sorry mate I do not know. I've pulled about 500 rings and this one is a mystery. Will have it check when I make my rounds to the gold and silver redemption shop.

I would certainly be curious as to your findings on that one. I tend to think that one is a winner, ESPECIALLY since it came out of the water looking THAT good. I think you have gold there.

The gold and silver redemption shop you mentioned concerns me though. Do you know what they pay out to you on your scrap. based on the current spot values? Are you getting 94% of spot? You should be.

Thank you for that bit of info friend. let me ask you. if not where do you sell your gold. Ebay?

I do not actually sell the gold and silver. I take what Midwest Refineries www.midwestrefineries.com pays me and then secure bullion with the check. I mean after all, shouldn't a pirate have some .999 fine in his life? To make sure that I do not get hosed, I weigh the loot on my scale and use this calculator. http://dendritics.com/scales/metal-calc.asp
