Tribe of Indians and a Nickel Trifecta!!!

This is all my finds from the weekend, I hunted a couple different houses and an old park that I have had luck at in the past. I ended up with 7 indians: 1867, 1879, 1882, 1898, 1901, 1902, 1906. One silver rosie, some wheats, smashed thimble, old brass ring.....and something for me that is a difficult task........a NICKEL TRIFECTA!!!! 1868 Shield nickel, my 1st one this season, 1906 V nickel and a real sharp 1915 Buffalo. I am always thrilled when I get old nickels, because I dig SO many low conductor targets chasing after them. Deep nickels bounce around a lot and are rarely ever a nice easy 12-13 signal. The shield nickel was real crazy and it was 08-16, 08-20 bouncing around....digging those junk signals paid off!!!!

That is a great day, you sure are able to find the spots with the oldies. Congrats!

Terry: Did you happen to use very fine steel wool on your nickels to clean them?
yep, haven't you ever read my website with the cleaning instructions of my methods???

Great hunts! You always seem to find tribes of Indians wherever you go. I wish there were more Indians around where I live.

I used your steel wool trick on a 1976 bicentennial half I recently found and it did a pretty good job on it too.

Thanks for the pictures Terry! Congratulations on the finds man!

Were thimbles hated that much that they stomped on all of them? How many have you found in good shape? I have only found one that was in good shape but numbers that were mashed like yours.

I do not think they were stomped, I am guessing after they were lost they were either smashed by someone walking on them or something running over them. I have found quite a few that were not smashed

Very Impressive... Love seeing your finds..

Excellent finds - and a Nickel Trifecta - very cool ! :beers:
