From the land of the Bluenose....the old French relic from Chetticamp made the journey to the mainland with his trusty canine, Max the Biligual Wonder Dog arriving as I was 3/4 way through a 12 pack of Holsten which was dulling the pain from too many straight days at work followed by evenings on the ballfield. After the usual plesantries and "gossip" as Marie calls our conversations on digging it was time to hit the sack.
Next morning we headed out bright and early to the area around my hometown on the south shore. Weather was excellent which was a far cry from the last time we dug there as we returned from that quest cold and completely soaked to the bone.
Nothing too exciting as French Dave dug a musket ball, button and about 30 coins where as I managed 63 coins including a 44,52 dime, 1950 quarter and a 33 nickel. About the only thing out of the ordinary on this dig was the company of a magnificant blue heron who seemed to be interested in what we were doing.
Once home I treated French Dave to some homemade corned beef hash and chicken vegatable soup and then it was off to the night shift. Got to say it....the edge is worn off this evening!
