Went to a couple of my favorite sites after a 4 month rain drought. The ground was still dry about 2" down. After this hunt we had record rainfall that I'm sure saturated the ground. The first site featured the silver religious locket, a couple of wheats. a gold earring, and other typical brass objects. The second spot was a very difficult site to hunt during the drought and not much better after a little rain. I used my 5" coil this time to get around the abundance of iron. Obviously, lots of shooting going on here once upon a time. The wheats were 1924, 1927S, and 1940D. The silver nickel is 1944D. The Cross pen seems to be gold plated. I'll go back there now that we've had some good, soaking rain.
