I was messing around with the Treasure Pro, doing some indoor testing, and I turned on the Beach program. I figured that it would reduce some of the EMI that I was getting in the room, and I was right. What I didn't count on was that when I followed up with an air test, it picked up the coins I was swinging much deeper! I'm not talking a little bit. In the air it was close to 3 inches deeper. I can't believe I haven't noticed this before now, but in the past with other machines I have used the beach mode seemed to decrease depth a bit. The TP did great in the field in the stock coin and jewelry program, but this may be the ticket. I know the DFX always ran with salt subtraction factored in, and it was a great machine. If this depth increase translates to the soil, the TP is going to give some people a serious run for their money. I also noticed a situation similar to the Minelab "clunck" with the TP. If you go beyond the depth of the tone ID, you get a different sound, but the target cursor registers the target just slightly below what it really is. Very interesting. The tone isn't the same, and no VDI number, but the Cursor or arrow is still pointing to a category. Something to look out for in the field for sure. I was going to put this machine away, and get back to the V3i, but now I am compelled to test out the Beach Program some more. The air test was going way out there. much more than you would expect from a unit at this price point
