I have an old 1000 P I detector in good condition and I want to know more about it. I have the download manual from Whites but I want to know when it was produced, how much it cost new and was it any good? I always want to know more about the thing than just how to operate it. Any information would greatly appreciated, Thanks
 
If it's the big Orange beast I remember from the '80s, I knew a few people that did well with it wading in salt water at the beach type hunting!

It took some getting used to and some folks had a problem pinpointing with it!

Some just gave up after unsuccessfully trying to learn its language!

Like any good detector, it is only as good as the man or woman using it!!
