Treasure is where it's found

Wow, finally got out for a 4 hour hunt. Now you might be thinking from the photo, is that all. Well not exactly, found lots of trash in the first couple hours but as I grew tired I started to slow down and really listen to my Tejon's attitude. Hunted an area where most would shy from. In fact in the past years I stayed away myself. But now, the sounds that seasoned Tejon users said they heard became music to my ears. I hunted slow and very low, scrubbing the grass on most swings. Listen, yep that has to be a pull tab and sure enough it was. Now I'm not correct 100% of the time but this day I was right. Then suddenly a soft, very good sounding signal, I said to myself it has to be something good and out came a 1939 mercury dime. Grid, grid, grid, turn around and start back a couple feet to the right of where I just came and boom there's that same type of sound again, I stopped and sweep the coil in different directions with the same results each time. To be honest I thought I might just have another one of those silvers, but out comes a real nice .925 silver ring with a purple stone. Now I have to admit, I passed up a lot of beeps that I thought were tabs or junk. Just remember If you find a place like this when you're hunting, don't move on, just slow down and practice listening. Soon you'll know why!

Yes, nice hunt!
Which coil?
I have found that in the real trashy areas I go nuts using the 9x8 on the Tejon and will go grab the Cibola out of the trunk. Even working slow, I can't really pick things out well with multiple targets under the coil with the Tejon running the 9 x 8. But the Tejon with the 5.75 coil, working slow, becomes an accurate, clear, and deep surgical detecting instrument in the trashy areas. If I am in medium to low trash, give me the bigger coil!
