Treasure In The Cow Pasture.............

Kelley (Texas)

New member
Yesterday evening while driving on Farm to Market Road 2252 up near Solms, Texas, I spotted this old Chevrolet pickup truck out in the middle of a cow pasture. It has not been out very long because I drive this stretch of road quite often and this was the first time that I saw it. Viewing it from the road, it appears to be in good restorable condition. I was tempted to cross the fence for a better look, but decided not to do so because of the high grass and the possibility of rattlesnakes this time of year. From the looks of the wear to the paint on the bed of the truck, I suspect the owner used this truck to haul hay. I love old trucks like this one.

Picture was taken with my Sony A300 DSLR with a vintage (1985) Minolta 28-85mm lens, F7.1, 1/125, ISO 100, Manual Mode, exposure aided by the use of the Histogram, good lighting conditions. Picture edited using Corel PaintShop Pro X4. Kelley (Texas) :)

For a second, I thought maybe you stepped in something lol. Nice picture of the old Chevy... they sure don't make them like that anymore.

That is a nice old truck Kelley. Doesn't look like it has been there for long at all. Hopefully it still runs and the owner just decided to park it out there for a while. Would make a great candidate for a restoration. Keep the old car photos coming.:)

I believe that the owner of the truck is somewhere in the area doing something, or it broke down out there in that cow pasture and they will be repairing it shortly. Old trucks like this one is fun to drive and play with. Kelley (Texas) :)

I did not want to go through the high grass and weeds because of rattlesnakes this time of year. As such, I could not see any tire tracks from where I was standing. Kelley (Texas) :)
