Treasure hunting leads for Fentress, Texas................

Kelley (Texas)

New member
Fentress, Texas is located a few miles east of San Marcos, Texas, maybe ten miles or so (short distance SE of Austin, Texas.) This is a quiet little town and is a short distance off the highway. There are lots of old houses, even a ball field that you could metal detect. Note: if no interest is shown by folks viewing this Post, I will not be posting anymore metal detecting leads. That is OK as I realize that while this is interesting to me, it may be boring to you and of no interst to you. Kelley (Texas) :)

This appears to be an old gas station.

This picture and the next one may be an old hotel.

This looks like it was a general store.

Interesting old church.

Local swimming hole located just south of the old church. If you look closely, you can see where the old highway was located.

Would love to hunt it, but alas, I live too far north-east. Besides, my left knee is getting replaced on June 11th........nge

but the pictures and remarks might make someone think about a small town near them, give them some ideas to think about. Photography is a good tool to use in finding sites to hunt with a metal detector. Many small towns that I visited for the purpose of taking some interesting pictures opened up many potential sites for me that could be hunted with a metal detector.

Please keep us posted about the results of your knee operation on June 11th. Kelley (Texas) :)

So far my right knee has been a success. Hoping better for left knee, since I have much better circulation in my left leg......nge
