Treasure hunting buried in snow, fish finders

Hi I’ve lost my cell phone in the snow. The magnetic locator I’m using is not finding it. Must be deeper than 18 inches. Would a fish finder work
 
Unfortunately I do not believe that they would. They are designed to work thru water and not enough water in the snow for the signal to go very far.
