I read your post in all metal detectors and you also said it had the number GC-1010 ....my detector is the GC-1023 ....gold century http://www.gold-century.com/search.asp have a look at the 1010 and tell us if it is your machine ,,,also read the thread ' goldsnoop user's ' in analog detecting forum. they have also been re-named goldsnoop here in OZ ..if it is the machine i think it is i may be able to help... if it isn't upload a photo of the controls and i might be able to help you with some settings ...i am only new to this too ..bout a month now ..but i have spent alot of time learning my machine..:ausflag:

yes the machine is the same.
I am trying to learn not much time with baby we found a coin today
A Australian silver florin 1956 :yo: woohoo
so it must work its just the operator:ausflag:
I will post a photo of the few thing i have found with my machine and of my machine control panel
i found item on notch with 4.5 sens and the top line that moves from the side was almost touching
i have it making different noises i think i know nails:lmfao: thank you for your interest

the florin was found in my backyard about a week ago.
the only place i have been is to the beach once, while visiting a friend far away. we found a dollar and 5 cents also a nice ssilver cross.
so i have been in the backyard as i am not to good on the hole size. wanting to get a pinpointer

my back yard holds a treasure trove or goodies
my son want to know when we will dig up a treasure chest lol
in the last 2 day i have found a half penny 1949
and 3 pennies all sitting on top of each other in one hole1956,1960,1952
I think my little machine is pretty good for a cheapie:detecting::clap:

The treasure hunter 3030 is the model gc/md 3030 which has digital display, correct me if i am wrong. If it is that model this detector is different to the one zircle and i have which is the model gc/md 1023 which does not have digital display and notch filter capability. I can tell you that i have used the same model as yours from a friend of mine who has one. What i found out is that this detector will take time to learn as i discovered the same when using, that it did give false signals or multiple different tones, very confusing but like i said i only used it a few times. You will have to learn the machine by doing tests at home on known objects and may also have to turn sensitivity a touch down if necessary. From memory this detector has auto and manual ground balance, very important that this is adjusted correctly or set in auto mode. The problem to pinpoint your having, i suggest you put the detector in non motion mode when trying to locate the object and raise the coil until you just hear the target, this will help with pinpointing. I will borrow this detector again to do proper tests and let you know how i go.

hello,i am an advid metal detector here in bangor maine.i have owned the best of them all, top of the line "whites","garrett",you name it i have used it.i bought an off brand i never heard of before called a rite metal detector, now this is the same "clone" of the treasure hunter 3030.i have found more things with this machine than i have with the best of them.in my opinion this machine discriminates and plunges just as deep as a whites dfx.just the other day me and my wife were detecting an old house and i got a copper reading i dug about 8" down to find an 1898 indian head penny.and then i got a silver reading i dug about 11" down got a 1903 silver quater.i have had so much fun with this machine.so please if yours dont work send it back and get another one you want be sorry.b.evans bangor maine

I had the 3030 Expert which may be different from yours.

Like yours it was right off the boat from China.

I got it off ebay from a dealer in Canada.

It was a complete piece of junk. It had a bad coil connector and none of the controls worked properily.

I asked for a refund but the seller ignores all of these.

Paypal got my money back except for what it costs me to send it back ($30).

The only good Chinese unit I've ever found is the GC1023 which sells from Amazon.com for $60 postpaid.

I also have one. i was getting the hang of it and the other day forgot it in my car,s trunk and now it wont work but i had fun while it lasted.just it did,t take the 100plus heat in that trunk
keep at it!
