Well, it's not as deep as the ACE series, but it is a nice, easy turn on and go detector. There are no interchangeable coils. It will find targets in the top 6-7 inches where 95% of the coins are. Below is a set of instructions in case you haven't got them. It's a great beginner detector. :)

My wife bought me one 2 Christmas's ago.
For the price, this little unit works well. Very light, turn on and go.
I have found many types of coins, toy cars, lots of other trinkets.
Also founds silver grad ring and hunting knife at about 5".

for a starter DT I like this unit, of course my rock n gem hobby has bought me to a place in Yukon planned trip in summer, to find gold. I've decided to purchase a GTI 2500, yes it's a big jump up, but after using the the Ace 100 I really enjoy the ruggedness, dependability of the Garrett DT.
The discriminator on the Ace 100 works well, but remember when using the discriminator it will cut your depth down.
Its takes a bit to get use to the different sounds it lets out, with various metals, but once you under stand, that will help to ID target.
If unsure dig everything, I've thought one thing and brought up something I didn't expect.
Of course I like the Ace 100 and will keep mine for that other companion who comes along for a day hunt.
One more thing I liked about the Ace 100, was that I use to search on the fresh water beach 1ft. - 2ft. under water and found coins there also.
The Newbie who gets the Ace 100 will most definitely find treasure.

Hope this helps, good hunting.
