Traveling with detectors

HeronBlue

New member
Hello all,
I am planning a trip to Mexico this winter and would love to bring my detector with me. I have never traveled via air with my machine and was wondering if anyone has encountered trouble at customs or with the airlines due to it being a somewhat unusual item. Also if anyone has insight about laws pertaining to found "treasure" on beaches in foreign countries that would also be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Blue, I have took my MXT on trips before with on trouble, but that was in the USA, just take battery out and put in plastic bag, take manual so they will know what you have, I took mine as carry on but i think you can do eather. Call airport and ask what is best way. Most airports know what a detector are and are ok with it. Just don,t try to hide anything and talk to them. Good Luck Dean
