My buddy and I set out Explorers on Iron Mask -12 today, gain at 7, and hunted a downtown site where they have imploded large buildings. We put coins down in spots and our locators would not read them. In other spots they would but with broken signals. Is this site so iron filled we are wasting our time? Eric and Steve

put it in ferrous tones and drop to -15 and go for it

are the sites worth hunting.......... use a smaller coil if you have it also......could be a few goods hiding out there

Sounds like you have a lot of trash under the coil, so by going to a smaller coil will help. I have found the same thing in some of my sites and wonder if you are running the sensitivity too high and in semi auto?? I run 14-16 and as low as 10 in manual sensitivity and it will make a big difference in these sites as semi auto may run smoother, but will not pick up a coin on top of the ground.

i think you have the right idea with low sensitivity but you need a mini size coil in all that junk. if you feel good coins could be there it may be worth checking out but in modern building remains the metal junk is awfully thick.

All the tips are great guy's, but don't forget to set your response to deep and fast, and scan with a slow steady swing...hope this helps.
