trashy park hunting

I went to the trashiest part of Glen Oak Park for two hours today. Rescued a 1929-D cent, Majestic's Dog Collar and a bottle labled:

ARCANA, MIN. CONT. 6 1/2 FL.OZ. WILLIAMS & BUCHELE, PEORIA, ILL

And I can't find any info on line about this bottle.....YET, still searching.

Steve, you probably wont find much if anything at all on this particular bottle. If I remember correctly, it is clear and a crown top. It could also be aqua or a light aqua. To help with a rough date, look at the seam that runs up the sides of the bottle. If the seam stops close to the shoulder or halfway up the neck, it will be what is called blown in mold and would date circa 1900 to about 1910 ish. If the seam goes all the way up to the lip, it is machine made and is post 1910. In any case, it is not a super rare bottle but not many have been surfacing over recent years. Many of the old timers who collect Peoria bottles have one. I too have one but it is badly damaged. It was given to me by someone who works for the city of Morton and found it while doing some work. The compnay is listed in my Peoria bottle books as a soda bottler. Hope this info is of some help.
