Trashy fairgrounds ?

I was very reluctdant to try this 127yr. old fairground, fully aware of the amount of trash content. I tried it once and was overwhelmed by all the trash, and left. Not being one to give up I went back and tried a different area at the fair with a custom pattern for just coins and found 6 IH pennies 1 silver dime 1905 O and a few copper rings. Have been back a few times after that with no luck. I still want to go back but would like to get some advise from the guru's. I can guess they will say, run -12 IM and go slow, but how about sensativity,hi or low, nothing was more than 4-6 inches deep.Gain? Response? Recover? Thank's for any advise that you may give! HH

If it is trashy like most are I would use a 5 or 8 inch coil lower the sensitivity to 14 or lower and go with semi auto and if you can, iron mask at -12 or so. If it is too trashy to run Iron mask then I would run a disc pattern with top opened all the way where -12 would be and go to the learn mode and learn some nickle with the medium cursor, this way it wont be so many tones, but will have more nulling. If a lot of rusty nails then go to the ferrous sounds.
I hope that will help.
Rick
