Transferable warranties. Who offers them?

Just a quick poll to see what companies offer transferable warranties.

Tesoro does not.
Garrett does.
White's does.
Fisher/Teknetics ??
Minelab ??

For those companies that do offer transferable warranties, how is it handled? As the second owner, do you have to contact the manufacturer and do some paperwork?

Thanks for any input,

Dan

Minelab does, you just have to show proof of original purchase date that it is still in warranty.

Whites,
Minelab,

First Texas products does not.

Don't know about Garrett, but I've seen a page in Whites operating manual that's a form for transferring WHATEVER'S LEFT of the two year warranty to the second owner.

Am I correct about Garrett?
Garrett webpage states it's detectors have a two year warranty, and doesn't specify if it is to the original purchaser or a subsequent owner. So i would assume it is for two years period. Regardless the owner. Most every detector manufacturer specifies whether the warranty is just to the original owner or if it's transferable. If i was serious about knowing about transferable warranty. I would call garret and ask them. GL & HH

I would have thought with all the ATPros sold on the classifieds that someone would know whether their new-to-them machine had warranty coverage.

Dan - Per Myra at Garrett, their warranties are transferable.

I'd make sure to get the purchase receipt from the original owner in case the warranty wasn't activated.
