Train contest entry #4 ( oops... a little late )

Had an interesting train come through this afternoon. Only one engine, BNSF 7146 and a few HISTORIC executive cars behind it. Was unable to get good shots of the individual cars, went by a little fast. Contacted a friend of mine who is a train junky and said these were kinda of rare to catch.
The names were:
Raton Pass - crew sleeper built in 1950
Stevens Pass - Sleeper and exercise car built in 1929
Trinchera Pass - Sleeper built in 1950
Stampede Pass - Sleeper - Power car built in 1950
Snoqualmie Pass - Baggage/Power car and workshop built in 1964
John S Reed - Business car built in 1949
William B Strong - Track inspection car built in 1949
Here is a link to the information on the cars.

is pulling lots of history behind it. Thanks for sharing this great picture and link. Kelley (Texas) :)

That is a fantastic photography.:clapping::usaflag::super:
It is very well composed. And all the info. ***** Thank you for sharing.

I love the grain bins in the background. So many older cars. Was this train on a special run? It's great to step back in time. This one made me smile. Very nice and thanks for sharing.

Great photo Frank.

I bet those cars are off to a rail museum, it looks like someone has been taking very good care of them all of those years.

from what I understand. These cars are possibly owned by the CEO of BNSF and they are actually used for cross country trips and meetings amongst the higher ups in the company. I hope to catch them coming back through tomorrow and get better shots of the cars.... I'll post an update if I can get em

when they return. I am going to contact some train folks and see if they will provide me a schedule for when they travel the various tracks around here, but I suspect that they will not provide it due to security issues. Kelley (Texas) :)

my mistake....they're possibly going to be back here tomorrow evening. (wed) ....hope to get some better shots of the cars as they come by...possibly even get some while they're parked........

I suspect you are correct... I work for BNSF and the cars in this photo don't match the names on the cars we get to ride in occasionally... BNSF has a train that travels around the system for the employees and their families to take a short trip out and back... Sure is a lot of fun not having to talk to the dispatcher or checking signals...
