Well, I had to learn for the second time (and last) that unscrupulous types inhabit this forum. As the warning at the top of this section says, Be advised before making ANY purchase to KNOW WHO YOU ARE DEALING WITH !!!!!!!
From now on I will only trade or buy from a dealer. I traded a mint Tesoro for a Minelab that was supposed to be in good shape. Ha, laugh was on on me. If you want to know who it was you'll have to PM me as I won't list names on here and risk being prosecuted. I just felt that everybody needs to do their homework and look at what kind of posts someone has posted before you work a deal. Had I looked before I had already committed I probably would have backed out.

I've had a few like that. What they claimed and what I received were two different gradings. Their 9 out of 10, I would have rated it a 4 out of 10 rating!!! I agree know who you are dealing with, whether it be a dealer or private person. I have made a lot of good deals on here, but there's always that one to look out for.

Heck put it in the feedback forum...thats what its there for....Dan
PS: what goes round comes round so his day will come...

That really stinks, you would think that all of us that are into this hobby would be good honest people but I guess not. I have done alot of dealing and knock on wood I have never been burnt. A person like whoever it was doesn't do people like myself any good, I take great pride in the detectors I sell/trade and thanks to him/her (I don't want to know who it was) I have lost doing business with you, and so have alot of other good honest members that might have something for sale that might interest you. Don't blame you though, times are hard and we need not getting taken advantage of. Maybe whoever it was will do the right thing and make it right with you. Steve.

Why can"t you just notifiy the man or woman, that the machine doesn"t meet your requirments, and that you would like to trade back, seems like that would be the easiest thing to do. and both pay there on shipping. just a thought. Virgile

I guess I'm still a newbie here but just wanted to add my two cents on the feedback page. As a newbie very few people know me. I have however done business with a hand full of folks here and all went well on both ends of the deal. The problem is that your not required to leave feedback one way or the other. None of the members as of the last time I looked gave me any feedback. This may or may not come back to haunt me down the road??? The only recourse I have as a newbie is to have people read my E-&@% feedback. The other thing I do is send a PM with my phone number and talk to the buyer/seller to try and get a warm-fuzzy from them to see if I want to continue with the transaction????

I'll assume you notified the person you traded with that you aren't happy with the trade.

If you feel the detector was misrepresented and the person doesn't agree to trade back, I would suggest using the feedback forum to describe what happened. That's what the feedback forum is for, no one can prosecute you for doing so.

Yep, I emailed him and let him know that he misrepresented the machine. That was 4 days ago and I still haven't heard back from him, and don't expect I will.
