Traded Vaquero

Before you blast me I know the Vaquero is a Great detector But I love the old Tesoros and traded it for a Cutlass II umax and a Silver sabre II both with 8 inch Brown coils . After putting in fresh Batteries and doing some air testing "which I know" is just that "Air testing" it seems the Silver Sabre II wins out I am going to move the control head to under the arm cuff on it but I must say I have owned a lot of Tesoro's in the years past and loved them all . I like the Vaquero just did not like the fact of the coil choices . Would like to hear from those that own either of these your honest opinions on them and I have read all field tests on both units by the way . Also buried a silver dime at 8 inches in the sand in my yard and the Silver Sabre hit it but the cutlass was a litlle iffy both have the brown 8 inch coil .

Cutlass II umax was the detector the Silver umax is based on and the capabilities should be very similar. I know where you're coming from on the coil issue as I have abunch of the 5pin detectors and a pretty complete array of coils. Last fall, I made a good purchase on a used Vaq and I like it well enough, but am resistant to starting another whole line of coils so I currently only have the 9X8 spider. I know the Cutlass is a preset ground detector, not sure about the SS II, but the lack of ground control would be the main concern in my mind for your trade. I should probably sell several of my detectors and add the Outlaw to my stable, but lately I need more time to be out using what I have.

Agree whole heartily with you but the ground I hunt in here is not very materialized and I will using these two mostly as backups I would really like to find an original bandito as well . When these two arrived today the wifey gave me a dirty look as this makes four in the arsenal and I tried to explain that they are for backups just in case ! can you believe she just

Barry the next time the wife does that look straight into her eyes and say this ( it's just detectors going in my closet and not skeletons! Which would you prefer?) I done that to my wife and she don't say a thing about it anymore when I get a new detector as long as I sell or trade one of my other detectors off to get a new one.I really liked the old Silver Sabre II it was a very good detector!!

I am really impressed with the SSII never had one until now going to take it to a site tomorrow and see how it performs in a dried lake bed. As for as the Cutlass Umax its Ok seems to be like Bill says an early silver Umax so if the fellow I traded with is satisifed with the Vaquero after he gets it I may put it up for trade and keep the SSII but the deal was both parties be satisfied with the trade and I am on my part but want know till Monday on his ! I know the Vaquero and it is a very good detector on small gold and such and very deep when supertuned Thus I know I will end up with another one but would like it o have the high tone and a better selection of coils dont care to much for the stock spider coil it hangs up to much on vines and such

Well made a deal with the Fellow I traded with on these and trading the Cutlass Umax back to him and a little Extra for a Original Bandito which I use to have years ago and loved it so looking forward to getting it cause I know I will be Happier with it since I have control over Ground Balance with it which I like . The fellow I am trading with is a Great guy and takes extreamly good care of his detectors so I know it will be in Very good condition !
