TRADED FOR VAQUERO: PRO'S AND CON'S

Have pretty much been with the Fisher brand of detectors for the last few years. Have traded for a Vaquero machine with both standard and a small coil. Looking forward to do some hunting with it. Any info on the pro's and con's of the machine would be appreciated. Thanks and keep diggin.

A great little detector. I use disc set below nickle and I have come to recognize a deep coin by the sound. I have dug many 8 inch deep coins and I have not had to thumb the disc knob, but l have learned the quick blip sound. For coins 6 inches and less, practice the "thumbing the disc knob" . Learn exactly where a nickle breaks up and thumb the knob to that point. The discrimination is extremely accurate by slowly rotating the disc knob as you swing. The V is a coin magnet that requires little in the way of a learning curve. The 5.75 coil used on the V is as good as any I have ever used. Good luck! R.L.

hay jak,

quality metal detecting headphones are a big help.

the V has a very good all metal mode for hunting. you

access it by turning the discriminator knob all the way

down until it clicks.

when you get a response, just thumb the disc knob.

i think that arrangement is handy. some don't care for it.

they would rather have a switch.

i use both, and like both.

my Euro Sabre has a switch.

Happy Hunting,
