Traded for a 1236X2, any good for coins?

Seen a lot of 1236X2's at comp hunts. The machine practically lets you know when you are near a coin, let alone over it. Great machine. I own it's mom, the 1235X and she's my jewelry magnet.

I HAVE A FRIEND THAT HAS TWO WHITES AND I FIND COINS BEHIND HIM ALL THE TIME WITH MY X2. I FOUND AN 1871 CC WUARTER 4" BELOW THE BOTTON OF ONE OF HIS HOLES. DOES IT EVER FIND COINS???? I FOUND 1400 IN THE 1st 45 DAYS WITH IT

I know my 1236x2 and there aint a coin left behind when it goes through. Only one problem.........Depth
I mean like the 1270 be prepared to dig dig dig. my 1236x2 hits dimes at 10 to 12 inches and pennys as well nickels qtrs even deeper.
Hope that helps as to any GOOD.....for me it is

I traded a Shadow X2 for a 1236-X2 so that I could water hunt out a little further with a chestmount. Before I had a chance to use it much My discrimination knob got messed up somehow and now it doesn't work all that hot.

WHich brings me to a question....How much does Fisher charge to replace a discrimination knob/switch and how lonf does it take before it's back?

Thanks and HH,

Heres living proof of Sundays 3 hr outing to a local ballpark and next door theater outdoors.Id say it is beyond belief in depth as well as disc i only dug 2 bad hits and thats because i didn't believe the machine,(they really are smarter than me). Most dug 1 to 4 inches. over 12 were 10 to 11 inches deep including a dime, penny and one quarter. I did get a wheatie at the ballpark too,3 inches down.
I only have the 1236x2 but Ive used way older compass and Garrett and both never got in this machines league thats for sure.
One caution unless you wanna dig DEEP run sens low like 2 or be prepared to dig min 6 inches on good hits. Also disc turns nickles off at 5 and Penny's go away at 6 at least on my machine they do.Pull tabs become extinct at just over 4 so be careful or you'll lose nickles. And i am using the stock 8 inch coil and headphones too.The phones just to keep the beeping quiet to others around me.Would luv to hear others using the 1236x2 here too
