Trade Token's, The New Gold Standard

Yesterday, I was driving home from a short hunt in the ball field and saw someone with a detector digging holes in the corner of his yard. Curious, I stopped and asked if he was having any luck? He said he was looking for property pins. He was a total newby, with an inexpensive borrowed machine. Not to mention, frustrated! So I said hey, can I help? I have found pins before, but it's not an easy task. We looked together and found lot's of coins and even a trash dump. He had lot's of questions, while we were digging, and I told him about tokens. He had never heard about them, so I gave him a quick history on them. We then went to the back alley and tried to find the corner pin, and wouldn't you know it, I dug this trade token. Wow! I love it. When you help others, it always seems to come back to you. I'm still doing the research on this one, the Courtway Bros. Wenatchee WN. Good for 5 c in trade. I think it is late 1800's because the last of the Courtway brother's, may have died in 1906. I have a fellow who has a bad addiction to collecting tokens, who buys most everything I find. They are literally like gold. Go find you some!

Howdy msareborn--

That's a neat token and it's in great shape. Please let us know what you find out about it? Best of luck and...

Happy Hunting!

Cool story. Thanks for sharing it! And I love tokens too--there's just something about 'em.
