Tracker IV modifications

I put a crutch cup on the back of the rod, moved the control box to the lower back. This took the top heavy out of it and balanced it so that there is almost no front weight, I can swing it all day.
To save batteries remove the front panel and clip one side of the meter connection-you don't use it anyway.

Hey ddigger, cool modifications! I've wondered about doing something similar... removing the control box totally and forming a hip-mount configuration. Talk about easy to swing!

Hey, congrads on cool mods.......that's called "personalising" :clapping: I'm a very lefty! Most detectors are very righty! Except for a Gta1000, my thumb has always been on the wrong side on my hand, so I've been forced to modify most of my detectors. So, you did good. :please::cheers::please:

The Tracker IV's meter sensitivity is so hot, it pegs on most any audible signal.

Someone who owns one should check this out- Very weak signals might not make a tone, but will still wiggle the meter. Maybe test on a target and slowly raise the coil to see if only the meter reacts after a certain distance away from the target. By paying attention to the meter in some spot where you're not hearing anything, it might help clue you to some deeeep goodies!

I did that on a time ranger.\, you have to order a coil with a longer cord though, the cord is too short
