Tracker IV issue

I picked up a second hand Bounty hunter Tracker IV and all it does it makes noise the entire time it is on. I have put fresh batteries in it with no luck. Anyone else ever see this? Know how to fix it? I looked at the circuit board and it seems pretty simple

you probably have done this, but have you reduced the sensitivity ? make sure the coil plug is secure ? do you have another coil to try on it ?

sorry to hear it is giving you trouble, they are good machines.

Yeah, it does it with all settings, with the coil connected or not. I dont have another coil to put on it, but since it does it without the coil maybe some thing wrong with the circuit board.

Sounds like it got wet.

^ this - I would say someone allowed water to get into the box.
